Laredo Hams News

10-17-05 We made the Front Page of the Laredo Morning Times!!! Go to the Media section to see the articles. Thanks to Clay Reddick of the Laredo Morning Times for making a wonderful article about our new hams. It is rumored that he is interested in getting his license as well.
10-15-05 Testing Session Results. LaredoHams has two new hams, they are Charles Fowler (Passed Tech and General Test) and Gerardo Aguirre (Passed his Tech) Congratulations to our new hams of Laredo. You are Next! Get your books now and start studying for the next test. you got almost 30 days! Plenty of time.
10-8-05 Club Meeting. A good meeting with good food. We talked about all the cool and latest things. We even talked about how dipoles work and what their radiation pattern looks like. You had to be there.
10-8-05 146.940 Repeater back on the air. PL 100.0 Well, after a lot of work and a lot of help from others, the .94 machine is on the air. Although we can not discuss repeater locations on the air, the machine is located near the airport and on a high structure. It seems to have a very good coverage area. We are planning to expand this machine. However, we are under a temporary contract and nothing is permanent yet. We are working on it though.
10-5-05 Media Files have been made smaller to download. Well, I got the right applications to make the files smaller and windows friendly. (Sorry Frank) They should play on almost any Windows computer running 98/NT/2K/XP If you have any problems, let us know.
9-30-05 Installed new repeater. After working on getting this thing on the air, we finally got the brackets and mounts built. It took a long time, a lot of work and a lot of money to get this right. Only problem is that I am not sure if the AC unit will last as long as we need it to.
