Interested in earning you Radio Merit Badge and becoming a HAM Radio Operator?

LHARC is offering monthy classes focused on Scouting. The Radio Merit Badge sessions are for Boy Scouts wanting to earn the merit badge in one day (PROVIDED YOU DO YOUR HOMEWORK!). This is approximately a two (2) hour class. The class will cover everything necessary to complete your requirments for the Radio Merit Badge!

This is what you need to do:

1) Download and print the work sheet at www.usscouts.org/mb/worksheets/Radio.pdf.

2) Go to http://www.qsl.net/aa6j/radiomb/ , study the material and write your answers on the worksheet.

3) Go to http://www.laredohams.com/whatishamradio/testing.htm to find the next testing session. Send an e-mail to scouts@laredohams.com and let us know what day you will be attending the Radio Merit Badge class before the exams.

4) On the day of class you must wear your uniform  , bring your worksheet , and be on time to take the class.

Instructors will also cover everything required for a Radio Merit Badge. At the end of this class the students will have the option of taking the FCC exam to earn their Amateur Radio Technician Class license.

All Scouts in uniform who complete the one-day Radio Merit Badge will have the chance to take the FCC Technician Class Exam at NO COST (under 18 only).

Scouts taking advantage of this offer must bring a printed copy of one practice test result from http://www.qrz.com showing a passing score.

Specific forms of identification are required to take the test are:

The Merit Badge Session Master is the final arbiter regarding qualification for free tests. If you have any questions about the one-day Radio Merit Badge session, send an e-mail to at scouts@laredohams.com.
